A lawyer upset at the Hilton Dublin
s policy regarding in-room prostitutes was so infuriated that he wrote the mighty Gawker Empire about it. Dublin

So a couple of mates and I spent a slash-and-burn weekend in Dublin with all the other tourists in the Temple Bar area, quaffing much more Guinness than is advisable. We ended up bringing some, err, friends back to the Hilton on Charlemont Street, just due South of Stephen’s Greens. Imagine our surprise when the night shift manager refused entry to our guests, citing fire safety policies. Not being able to bring guests back to your room in the wee hours of the morning? Unheard of!!!

We bargained hard just to stay in the lobby half an hour to chit-chat over a last round of Guinness, then snuck them in upstairs when said night shift manager wasn’t looking.

Half an hour later, the man came knocking on our door for a full two minutes before he let himself in with a master key, and angrily ushered our friends out, goons in tow.

What I want to know is, is this some sort of policy particular to all Hilton hotels? If so, I’ll never set my foot in one again. Has anyone ever had this problem in Dublin hotels or anywhere else?
